The Nahanni Butte Dene Band (Traditional Name: Nahɂą Dehé Dene Band) Management and Administration team comprises of the Chief and Senior Management Personnel, guided by Elders, Council Members and community Knowledge-Holders.
This team is responsible for ensuring delivery of various municipal and community programs, development and review of policies, guidelines and procedures, program budgeting, community and stakeholder engagements, land and resource management, engagement with Federal and Territorial Governments, project management, financial management and strategic oversight functions, embedded with traditional and cultural values. The main goal of this team is to improve community infrastructure, positively impact the lives of community residents, economic empowerment, and ensuring sustainable development.
To engage community residents to know their evolving needs and act on it
To ensure all municipal services including water delivery, sewer services, garbage collection and snow removal are provided in a timely manner
To develop, monitor, review and implement the strategic priorities for the community of Nahanni Butte
Ensure financial stability and process transparency to become an efficient organization run by effective policies
To create more jobs and income for the residents, to assist local businesses, to execute infrastructure development projects for the community
To ensure delivery of programs to better the lives of the residents
To ensure residents are safe during any emergency situation. Public Safety is most important
To engage and partner with Federal Government, Government of Northwest Territories, Government of Yukon, and neighboring communities bordering the traditional territory of Nahanni Butte
To ensure the rights of the community are protected, to effectively safeguard the land, water and resources within the traditional territory of Nahanni Butte
